Tir ha Mor is a celebration of Cornwall’s wildlife and wild places, on land and beneath the waves. We invite you for an evening of escapism: six inspiring films that take you from tor to shore, exploring the landscapes, species, and stories that make our county unique.

Hosted by outdoors advocate Lydia Cooke, expect beautiful cinematography, local filmmakers, Q&As, and a relaxed atmosphere with drinks and pizza available. There will also be a chance to enter our Land vs Sea prize draw on the night: you could win a kayaking voucher for two, two tickets for a guided beaver walk at Woodland Valley Farm, or a Cornwall Wildlife Trust goodie bag.

FILMS

Elsey Davis: The Circuit of Cornwall | Stone Visuals UK | 15 mins

An inspiring portrait of endurance and love, following Elsey Davis as she runs the 400-mile circumference of Cornwall in just seven days, pushing through extreme physical and mental challenges in aid of Alzheimer’s Research UK.

The Gentleman Farmer | Nathan Powles | 11 mins

A stark, atmospheric short starring Edward Rowe (aka Kernow King) as a farmer pushed to the edge. With his livelihood collapsing, he uncovers a bitter betrayal when a rival farmer steals his livestock to sell on.

Hunros Jorna | Mickey Smith & Allan Wilson | 19 mins

An experimental Cornish-language film that drifts through two decades of coastal obsession and communion with the sea. With music from A Blaze of Feather, Hunros Jorna captures a fleeting era of exploration, camaraderie and human connection shaped by the endless pull of the ocean.

Rock Pool | Dan McKay | 17 mins

An immersive, artful exploration of the rocky shoreline, revealing the hidden beauty of marine life through abstract close-ups, evocative sound, and a perspective rarely seen captured in mesmerising detail.

Tonic of the Sea | Jonathan J Scott | 8 mins

A gentle, intimate mini-documentary exploring the restorative power of open-water swimming, following Katie, who discovers a source of calm, resilience and renewal through returning again and again to the sea.

Gwynnik | Seth Hughes | 18 mins

Gwynnik follows surfer and Finisterre ambassador Mike Lay as he turns his gaze homeward to Cornwall after years spent chasing waves across the globe. The film explores a quieter relationship with the sea — one shaped by family, rhythm, and a deeper appreciation for what has always been close by.
