Leading up to our White Rabbit Books event this coming Saturday (12th August), we caught up with Steve Davis (yes that Steve Davis) & Kavus Torabi. Who together form the psychedelic outfit The Utopia Strong as well as being DJs together.
The Utopia Strong are a British electronic band formed in Glastonbury, England in 2018. The group are composed of Steve Davis, Kavus Torabi, and Michael J. York.
Fresh from their set supporting Blur at Wembley Stadium they will be joining us here at the taproom to play their amazingly eclectic DJ set. Tickets are still available from Eventbrite and for just £5 + booking fee.
Joining Steve and Kavus will be Jennifer Lucy Allan and Richard Milward both of which are from the White Rabbit Books stable. They will also be joined by Lee Brackstone (Editor in chief at White Rabbit Books) and Matthew Shaw (Brewing Folk and Stone Club).
Lee will start the evening off in conversation with Lucy, chatting about her book: The Foghorns Lament. Lucy travels from From Shetland to San Francisco ... in praise of the coast’s most monstrous and melancholy sound machines.
Matthew will then be talking with Richard, the author of many books with his latest novel: Man Eating Typewriter. Being cited as being like Ulysses for those who can't cope with reading Ulysses (Paolo Hewitt).
